While I was reading Swallowing Stones By Joyce McDonald, I was wondering if Michael was going to confess. Well, Michael shot a gun on his birthday and accidentally killed a man. That man was Jenna’s Father. Michael had his friend Joe around when he shot the rifle. Amy’s house was a place where Michael could go to get all of the stress of his back, And Amy also lost her mom and dad like Jenna.The cops went to Michael’s house to try to find the gun but Michael hid it. The term swallowing stones comes from a memory of Michaels. One time when he was at the lake a girl went down to get rocks from the bottom and pick them up with her teeth, But when she was coming back up she panicked and she inhaled the rock and it killed her. If she would have just swallowed it her stomach would have gotten torn up, but she wouldn’t have died. This is also talking about Michael’s crime, if he would have confessed and not of kept on lying he wouldn’t have been in that much trouble. At the end, Jenna comes to the ghost tree to talk to her dad, and Michael also ends up there and he is going to tell her what he did and then the police.
